E. Séguin and sons, Mechanical Contractor

Our history

The company is named after its founder, Emile Séguin. In 1925 he started as an entrepreneur to execute contracts plumbing and heating under the name J.E. Séguin from his residence on Laval Street in Hull.

Of the 19 children of Emile, 7 of them, seven brothers, were interested in the company and established the bases for it to grow. The main bases are work, honesty and perseverance to carry out the projects and contracts. These values are transmitted to subsequent generations, daughters, sons, brothers, cousins and nephews that are part of upcoming generations. Then and now, the company still belongs to Emile Séguin’s descendants.

In the beginning, Emile Séguin and Sons was primarily installing plumbing, hydronic heating, steam and oil heating systems or natural gas in Hull (Gatineau) and Ottawa. During the 70s, the company grew to include ventilation to its services and also included a duct fabrication shop. All these services are still part of the specialties of the company.

Our company is a member of the “Corporation des Maîtres Mécaniciens du Québec” (CMMTQ) since 15 March 1949. It is the member no.45 making it the oldest company member of this organization still in business and active. An article in the issue of the magazine “Inter-Mécanique du bâtiment” of June 2014 for the 65th anniversary of the CMMTQ mentions it.
